I'll be honest, I am American and I don't really know the answer. But I do know a little -- my boyfriend is from Zimbabwe. I think Zim was removed from those types of groups when the country started going to hell in a handbasket -- no, seriously. bad phrase, I know. when they claimed independence, the leader started the process of giving the land back to the blacks. I totally think that's ok, and great. but then they got the land back and did nothing with it. a lot of people were killed, no one farmed the land given to them, and now they are in every sort of crisis -- economic, political, social. most other countries won't have anything to do with them because the country's leadership is so corrupt. and according to the people I know who are from there, a LOT of african nations are under such corrupt leadership that they're being excluded from lots of things. I can see both side of it, honestly. I don't support leaders of these countries and know something needs to be done to get them out of power. but it is tough that they're being left out of so much.....
