It is definitely NOT coincidence. The incredible drain on supplies and reserves necessary to carry out the logistics of preparation for war would create a situation where demand would exceed supply to the point of causing an inflationary effect. The actual engagement notwithstanding, moving the ships, tanks, trucks, food, fuel, and planes to strategic locations involves massive amounts of petroleum consumption. Big oil loves war and the threat of war. It provides both the distraction and a semi-legitimate cover for profiteering.

No more a coincidence than the justifications for even going to war in Iraq all come up bust.
No more a coincindence than having HALLIBURTON (CEO chaired by vice-prez Dick Cheney)
No more a coincidence than how fast per gallon gas prices have risen since the Democrats not only challenge Bush on the War--but they seek an END to the war--evidently opposed (for logical reason) by Bush.
No more a coincidence than Florida (run by Bush's brother Jeb) getting ALL the best help w/ NO problems after that state got plummeled by hurricanes in 2004---and New Orleans is all but pretty much forgotten (ever notice how well neighboring Mississippi is doing well w/ Federal help, too?).

Sure.
Just as much as I'm sure that it was mere concidence that gas prices rose over 300% under Jimmy Earl Carter and Ritzy Fritzie Mondale. If you want to hold the current President & VP responsible, then you also have to hold the other two responsible as well.
What gives you the idea that the President has any control over price raises in this Country? Are we a free market? Did you complain about the President when the price of milk went up by 300%?
Give me a break.

That's no coincidence.
The President's family makes money off of oil and Cheney used to run Haliburton.
Gas is as high as it's ever been and we're in a war.
Billions of dollars are "lost" somewhere in the middle of that mess they call a war. And Haliburton has received dozens of no-bid contracts which we all have to pay for in taxes.

WOW, never heard that question before, since we are asking "office" questions, why is it we have the largest tax increases every Democratic administration is in office....and the new one the Palosi Congress is working is the largest in history.....
On gas, I'm paying less this year than last, maybe you should check on the local, state and sales taxes that are added to fuel costs also ?

The Bush people will find a way to blame the rise of gas on Bill Clinton.
