That depends on the state and the school one attends. Check with your state's department of education on certification requirements. It is different in virtually every state.

It's my understanding that you can hold as many different certifications/ Diplomas/ AASs/ BAs/ etc. as you want. It would probably be a plus for you and enhance your chances in getting a job in either field.
