There is a film you can buy at stores like home depot and first you cut it to a little bigger than the size, then you wash the window perfectly cleaning it, then you apply a very mild soapy water spray to the window and then to the film and very carefully you lay the fim on the window. You have a little time to move it around. Then using a squeejie that has a soft rubber you wipe the liquid and air bubbles from between the fim and window. Cut around the edge of the window with a trimming knife and do not open the window for a day to let it dry. If you need to do it over you may need to use a heat gun to make the fim come off. With film on windows you clean it carefully. It will scratch and scuff if are too hard on it. Some film shades are not legal because they are too dark. Some people like it dark and if they get a ticket from the police, they take it off, show the police it is off then they put it back on later so it is not that hard. If you see cars with window film that has lots of bubbles they did not use spray water to help squeeji out the bubbles.

It's in the glass if it's factory, or a plastic film added afterward that sticks to glass. The film is applied like a decal, spray soapy water on glass apply film squeegee out bubbles and excess water let dry and trim.

They take sheets of tint, and its like super-sticky plastic wrap. If they put it on wrong, it will buble, if not then it will look right.
