Without getting into a theological discussion or long winded sermon, you can best understand the Big Bang Theory by starting with the work of Hubble.
Hubble discovered the red shift in the spectrum of galaxies.
The red shift occurs when something that is emitting light is moving away from you, so Hubble discovered that all the galaxies were moving away from each other and therefore the universe was expanding. This gives rise to two questions immediately:
1. What is making the universe expand
2. What did the universe look like before it began expanding
By running the universe's clock backwards until all the galaxies etc. come back together to one spot, we find that the universe is about 10 to 15 billion years old. The Big Bang is the supposed event which caused the universe to begin expanding to begin with.
As for what caused the Big Bang, well, that is a matter for speculation and a Biblical answer is every bit as valid as any other answer since the laws of physics prior to the Big Bang are unknown.

"A theory advanced to explain the origin of the Universe. It was developed in the 1940s by George Gamow from the ideas of George Lamaitre. According with this theory, a giant explosion 10 to 20 thousand million years ago, began the expansion of the universe ...which still ...continues. The Big Bang was NOT an explosion of matter through space. It was the expansion of space itself from a single point..?" ...

"What is the Big Bang ? The Big Bang theory is the most acceptable theory today about the creation of the universe. According to this theory the universe was created in a big bang about 12-15 billion years ago. Science has no way of predicting what was before that time. Before the big bang all the matter in the universe as we know it today was dense in one point. It's hard to imagine but the universe was that point, there was nothing else BUT that point. Then a big blast occurred and the point started to expand with tremendous speed. All the material init moved away from the blast into space . The explosion also created alot of radiation (See Evidence - Cosmic background radiation ). Since then, that point (which was the early universe) has expanded to the size we know today, and is continuing to expand. (See evidence - expansion)." ...

Its a theory created by Liberal Scientist to try to discount what the really know...the truth that we were created by a higher being and not from a monkey..
although, i think some people still act like monkeys...there still to this day is no evidence that man "evolved" from apes...Funny enough, there is a number of DNA strands that monkeys do not have......
But, this is the true resolution to what is called the "big bang theory"..
big huge planet...big explosion.....then yeah right!!....trillions of smaller planets and stars, and comets, and this and that and tis and that were automatically formed....
it is very far fetched...

a proud theory that says...''if you give me SPACE , I can make a beautiful world alone..without God 's help ''
Now ..give me..a big piece of gold..and I shall tell you that I will make a ring of it..and this means I am the god of my ring..''
