I don't want the draft re-enstated I have a brother turning 18 this year. I have an ex that is turning 18 next year. I have some friends that are already 18 that I haven't seen in a while and if that get drafted and I never see them again because they die in war I will be so upset. I know that seems so selfish, but I love my friends with all my heart and I would never like that to happen to them!!!!!!!! Plus they agreed under the constitution that it is a citizens right to join the army or not. Actually I made that up, I just no they took the draft out.

Re-instating the draft would cause such an up roar in this country I don't believe it would be advisable.More people are informed on this war as has never been seen before. The protests that accompanied the Viet Nam War would be NOTHING compared to now.

Couldn't really believe in a draft but I do think all should be mandatory to be in at least 2 years to build character and a direction for young adult who don't have goals.

I am all for reinstating the draft. Maybe it will make these baby-boomers realize its tough to be so gung-ho about war when its your kids being shot at. Also, why should we only send the poor to war? Rich kids should get a chance to get shot at too.

If the Bush twins had to serve in Iraq, the war would of ended years ago.

We do not need it now. There are plenty of citizens that are volunteering to keep this country safe, so there is no reason for the draft.

The draft is legalized government kidnapping and I will protest it. They will not take my son or husband because Bush f***ed up. NO WAY!

If we have to in order to protect our citizenry, then so be it!
For a moment remember the passion of our forefathers and the greatness this country has achieved in our short 200+ years.....we must never allow anyone to hurt us again!

The draft is a human cattle chute: prod them, herd them in, slaughter them.
