i don't think there is anything to be upset about. obviously, the tow of you have had strong feeling for each other over a period of time, and you made it clear to one another that you have those feelings through the kiss.
talk to him about what happened at your friend's house in private, face to face. avoid ever talking about things like this on the phone or on the computer. tell him that you have always liked him and that's why you kissed him, and you want to be his girlfriend. i think he'll agree to go out with you if he agreed to kiss you! good luck- i hope you become a couple. :)

I tried dating my best friend in high school and it ruined things. Be very careful. Most times your freindship won't be same....but at the same time some people have married thier best freind. Ask him out but decide before hand that things won't get akward if it doesn't work out.

That is your best friend im not saying its wrong to have benefits with him im just saying keep your distance but if that is where your heart is then by all means but take it slow remeber this person knows all your secrets and all your thoughts and your every move so try not to hurt him and try not to fall to deep
