Pencils are NOT made of lead, but graphite. I think you would need to eat about 75 pounds of graphite before you even got a headache. So, you'll live.

the pencil lead in the newer .5 mm pencils contain a less toxic kind of lead. i thinks its nothing to worry about. You got the lead out you should be fine. Now, if your pregnant you might want to mention it at your next ob appointment.

The "lead" of a pencil has never been made of the element lead, though some crayons have had lead in them in the past.

Unless your finger shows signs of infection, you have nothing to worry about. (It would be swollen and very sore if infected.)

Forget it, you have neither lead, nor graphite poisoning. As for telling a doctor, nah, most doctors have more important things to worry about as they are usually overbooked with patients who have problems..

nah, i feel that you will be fine...you might want to put some antibiotic on it just because of the *puncture* wound and threat of bacteria, neosporin will do...however, pencil *lead* is not lead, it is graphite...you still want to clean the wound though :)

Pencil "lead" is not made of lead---it's just carbon.

You are not poisoned. You are fine.
