The cartridges are almost new so I know its not out of ink. What could be wrong?

1)Try cleaning Of the contacts on the cartridges witha Lint free cloth.
2)Take out the cartridge.
3)Unplug the power chord from the printer. Wait for 30 sec and Replug
4)Insert the Cartridge.Try printing.
5)Try a New cart and call 1 800 474 6836 .HP will replace the Defective Cartridge.

HP tech support, what a joke. You might get somewhere with them in the long run, but there's a lot of mucking around in between. . I would try new cartridges first and then try the old ones again. Good Luck

Remove the mylar lining and re-install the cartridge.

One of them may have come loose, remove and re-install all ink cartridges.

Failing that, call HP for tech support.

It's either you didn't install it properly or the printer/cartridge is spoilt.

try updating the firmware of the printer and also u'll get a patch on the website hp.com under software and driver downloads...
