Some tell me there is less pain to get a nose piercing with the typical gun used for the ears. Is the thickness of cartilage the determining factor on the level of pain.

I am open for suggestions from all ethnicities who rock the sexy lil nose piercing!

Don't get it pierced with a gun. All guns do is move the tissue around, making the healing process longer. If you get it done go to a professional piercer, and have them use a hollow needle. When I got mine done that's what I did. Of course you may have different pain tolerance, but for me, getting my nose pierced hurt as bad as getting any other cartilage, which isn't bad at all.
Good luck!

If you did any research on piercings, you'd see that piercing guns are really bad for you, especially on the cartilage. It can shatter the bone, which will never heal up properly. The gun cannot be sanitized very well since it is made of plastic parts. The person doing the piercing only had a few hours of training while a professional has to actually take real classes. Plus, a piercing gun can get jammed and stuck on your nose. Can you imagine the pain of that?

Instead, you should stick with a hollow needle. They can be properly sanitized, are done by professionals, have a shorter healing period (a gun is blunt trauma), and you don't have to worry about it getting jammed.

i've never had my nose pierced, but i have had other things peirced, and honestly? you should go to a professional and get it pierced with a needle.

guns are really only meant for earlobes...there isn't much in your earlobe besides skin, which is why they work.

anything with cartilage is always going to be more painful, but with a needle, they usually clamp the area getting pierced with this trianglular clamp and an opening in the middle, so it kinda cuts off the blood circulation so you dont feel the needle as much. also, the needle actually removes the skin and cartilage from the hole (i know, gross), but the gun just kinda pushes it to one side, creating a bump and longer healing time. you'll also get a better result from a needle.

The gun probably will be less painless due to the speed of the piercing, and with a needle it will be three painful pops in your nose.

No piercing guns!!! If you are that worried about the pain, then you are not ready for a piercing.

I got mines done with the gun. It faster and they both hurt. As soon as the gun was released tears flowed down my face. But with the needle they have to pierce it then put the ear ring in. But with the gun it's all done in one step. You make the choice. Good Luck!!

I don't have my nose pierced, but I did pierce my ear, and to me, it takes to long, it did hurt. I'd go w/the gun myself, quicker. Beside's a nose is thicker and your ear, ouch!
