Don Larsen of the NY Yankees pitched a perfect game in the World Series. He did it at the end of a long season. He did it while facing the best team in the National League. In order to pitch a perfect game, he had to get up and do his thing nine times, with no mistakes...anywhere.
My personal, local favorite: Franco Harris' immaculate reception.
