6x + 12x - 8 = 6x + 2
18x - 8 = 6x + 2
18x - 8 - 6x = 6x + 2 - 6x
12x - 8 = 2
12x - 8 + 8 = 2 + 8
12x = 10
12x / 12 = 10 / 12
x = 10 / 12
x = 5 / 6

6x +4(3x-2) = 6x+2
6x+12x-8 = 6x+2 :removing the parenthesis
6x+12x-6x = 8+2 :combining like terms
12x=10 :divide the 10 by 12
x = 10/12 or 5/6 :answers
By checking this:
6x +4(3x-2) = 6x+2 :substitute the value of x.
6(5/6)+4(3(5/6)-2) = 6(5/6) +2
5+ 4(2(½) -2)= 5 +2
