No they did not. This ban is city regulated. If a certain city comes to a vote, and the non-smoking ban is a go, then it is a go. You can still smoke indoors in certain cities! Joliet, Plainfield, Shorewood, Naperville.... those are just a few! So, if you're looking to eat somewhere that you can actually have an after dinner cigarette, call first! Bars suck without smoking! Some cities are smart.... they are gaining the business of others that are banning! Hey, the bowling alley in Hoffman Estates doesn't allow smoking even in their bar! That sucks for smokers on bowling leagues! Stress plus no cigarettes plus booze can be a hefty weight for anger freaks! Good luck to the cities whho have banned already! I wouldn't want to have to deal with some of those freakydeakys without cigarettes!

The bill was passed in the House of Representatives and now goes before the Senate. It is aimed at making the whole state non smoking as now some cities are and neighboring cities arent. People are going to the smoking allowed and the local businesses are suffering a loss of revenue.

I believe that they did effective January 2008.
