The same as a vacuum with a bag. The difference is the dust collector can be removed, emptied, washed and reused. Efficient and cost effective.

You will not be happy with a bagless vacuum cleaner.

You have to clean the filter out, which is a horrible experience best done out-of-doors on a windy day (downwind of your house).

The filter never seems to work very well, and your house fills with the smell of dust as the dirty, dusty air is expelled from the vacuum.

Emptying the cleaner is a total mess. Rather than a bag of dirt that you can throw out, you have a container of dirt that seems to spew dust all over the rest of the cleaner, no matter how careful you are. I think there is some static charge that force the dust all over everything.

The filter gets dirty immediately, which reduces the vacuum's suction - they don't seem to pick up dirt as easily as a traditional vacuum.

Just the same, collects the dust and dirt but no bag. I like mine a lot. If you get one, make sure it is one you can take the container out of the vacuum and then open it to dump out the collected trash. It is much cleaner and you won't get the dusty residue in the air that comes through the bag. I used to have to wait to dust until AFTER vacuuming..what does that say? You may have to invest a bit more at the outset, you probably won't want to settle for a cheap version.

The same as a regular vacuum does- except you don't have to buy replacement bags. Just remember to empty and clean the dust catcher, and clean or replace the filters.

ya know i fell for this thinking it was a great option yeah no more bags and i had seen demos etc...but what they dont show you is how bad the dust and pet hair sticks to it or how bad it all flys up in the air when you try to empty it really quite horrible and why someone didnt warn me about it ill never know cuz once i bought one everyone and their mother was there to tell me how much they suck and not a good suck so take heed of the warning stick to bags!!!

Do NOT buy one of these...they suck because they don't suck...they lose the ability to pick up dirt very quickly. I spoke to a guy in a vacuum cleaner shop after mine was having problems picking up dirt...he said while he sells some he doesn't recommend them because of all the complaints he has had from customers.

same as the one that takes a bag. Except you don't have a bag to change, you just empty the container

It deposits the dirt into a cup that you have to empty, thereby spilling dust and dirt and defeating the purpose of a vacuum cleaner. I think they suck.
