new legislation on being out of work sick for a long period in ireland?

i was told that if you are out sick for a long period the company have the right to let you go .what if the reason you are out sick is work related are they still entitled to let you go

Absence is valid if work related and it can even be compensable if there are sick leave credits. You just have to prove that the sickness was caused by work.
