I use to ask the same question and I had the same attitude but the one thing that really made a difference for me is that I noticed that when my house is clean minor miracles happened in my life. Consider that a clean house is actually a clearing for greatness to happen. Just like an artist needs a blank canvas to work with if one wants to create something in their lives there has to be nothing in the space to do that. A clean house can provide that nothing.

Well you need to clean as all the dust can cause you to have allergies, you don't want that, so I will suggest a way for you to enjoy it more and not kick up and scatter so much dust, this way you will feel more like dusting, you just moisten your dusting rag with water and a little polish on it that it just make sure you keep your duster moist you furniture will be cleaner faster and you will spend less time doing it and enjoy it more. Good Luck !

Like others said: Mold, mildew, smell, fire hazards, and vermin.
Another thing: There was an old lady I used to have to go visit when I was a kid. And she never cleaned. And every time I visited her I got sick.
Sure, the dust in the air is making you feel icky now. But once you get it out of your house you'll feel better. And believe it or not, a clean house is less stressful.

It smells better. You won't sneeze so much without all the dust. Less chance of catching a virus, bacterial infection if house is kept clean. You will know where everything is if you clean it & put it in it's designated spot. Does this help?

You would be surprised what is in your bed. Sweeping the matris gets rid of parasites and bed bugs. I use a shampoo'r on mine in the spring. Skin falls off your body all the time. If you don't clean your house it can make you sicker as time goes by. Mold and mildew grow where you would not think it to grow.

For your health. A dirty house can cause sinus problems and make you ill. Especially if you have mold. Also a dirty house can cause you to be stressed. Its not hard to maintain a house of it's clean already. Just learn to pick up after yourself and vacuum every once in a while.

Your house represents you. Just start cleaning room by room. Kitchen and bathroom probably needs more work then any other room. Do it for yourself. You will see the difference.
Buy the best cleaning supplies and start cleaning.
Good luck.

Because is it stressful living in a dirty untidy house it's well worth the effort.
Do you really want people to think you are dirty & lazy when they visit you? Or worse, feeling uncomfortable when they are there and stop coming around.
