this is for some of the guys who think the team did bad and dravid should take equal blame.. first of all understand this.. the captain is the one who has to make the key decisions
terror said why did sachin do badly and the bowlers bowled badly? which idiot made sachin bat tht down the order.. and which idiot made the bowlers bowl continuously when they were getting whacked for runs (RAHUL DRAVID) A really good captain is someone who doesnt need an awesome team to win.. he can make use of even an average team... ill agree tht some of our players did badly.. but our captain is worst cause he cant use even that lil talent on hand to win... take for example against bangladesh.. what was he thinking when he gave yuvraj overs to bowl when sehwag took wickets in the end? why didnt he give him bowling earlier?? he doenst know how to put the right field placements.. doesnt know how to use his bowlers..remember india rarely has a strong bowling attack... oh yeah i forgot he aint a forceful captain..most of the time he stands in the slips biting his nails when the bowler is getting whacked.. with his mind blant.. hes not proactive enough.. hes been doing this for close to a year.. not just the world cup.. we lost important test matches in SA and even tht one match we won in the west indies we nearly lost tht too..
thts why im sure any other player will be a far far better captain than Mr Dravid.. chappell should be axed too.. and Sehwag or Yuvi should be the new captain.. with Viv Richards as coach

Dravid is probably, the best ever captain, India has ever seen. When he won 17 matches straight, without Tendulkar, Ganguly etc., Where was this question? He perhaps do'nt say others, what to do, but he demonstates what to do. He leads from the front, bats in any position, never speaks anything wrong to anybody. Take for example, India vs Srilanka match in the world cup, He has contolled the in-form-Srilankans to a mere 250+, but our batting failed. we lost by around 69 runs.
Does a batsmen of the caliber of Tendulkar, Ganguly, Yuvaraj, Dhoni etc have to be told that they score atleast 30 runs each? How can we say that Dravid is not a good captain?
Dravid is needed to Indian Cricket at this hour , who is a very nice gentle man, A great batsman, non-contravertial, good natured, intelligent, more than all, a great asset to Indian Cricket. Let us not do any blunder at this point, by removing him from the Captaincy, or else, the real culprits will take control of Indian cricket. then God also can not save India.
Does a player

When he chose to bat first against Bangladesh, it was a bad decision, against Sri Lanka it was bad to chase. Face it man, none of the batsmen played responsibly- simple solution change the coach & axe the captain, bring in another captain, then axe him if the players don't perform. The people & media were calling for Sehwag's head as he was not performing- there only Dravid stood by him & his potential- What happened Sehway went on to be India highest scorer.
Accept this is a game- you can't win all the time. The great Aussie team also lost 5 games in a row, including a very poorly rated England very recently, but Ponting is still the captain
Coming to Ganguly's captaincy, a captain is good as his team. The team was performing when he was the captain. Do not forget Sehwag, Dravid, Yuvraj, Pathan & Bhajji's performances during his captaincy. Under Dravid what happened to all these players. Ganguly used to score big hundreds. Now it is restricted to laboured 50's-just to keep his place in the side.
Axe the captain for sure- so also the players who have not lived to their reputation- have a fresh captain & team like Zimbabwe.

I agree that Ganguuly was better captain, suppose if Ganguly is made captain again then also he will not be able to win matches.
This is because, our senior players like Sachin and
Sehwag is failing repeatedly again and again and still they get selected in the team of world cup. Our selectors are doing this by looking their past records and performance! Thinking & keeping the hope that they may click some time!! Is it not a crime to do so when a tournament like world cup was to be played?
Player's current form should have been considered and those who were not in form, should not have selected.
In WC matches, also they failed in crucial matches. In such a situation, any captain would have failed.
Cricket is a team game and each and every member has to contribute to win the match. Especially senior and experienced players should be more responsible in this regard.
Unfortunately, Sachin and Sehwag never clicked when it was needed. on the contrary they got out in early stages of the match and burdened other juniors to pull the innig.
Tell me what a best captain whoever he may be could have done??

I guess the problem is that we are carried off too much by a win or a defeat.
Can you answer me, when dravid came as a captain and we won matches in a streak (infact made a record, of consecutive chases), were you of the same opinion as what you are today.
Everyone has a good time or a bad time, we need to get through it. And I guess its a team effort to win or loose.
If I have to pick reasons for our defeat, I would rather say
1) Sachin's poor performance
2) Ganguly wasted too many balls in all three matches
3) Bowlers were not disciplined enough.

Sorry buddy, I beg to differ with you. When you read certain news doing the rounds in the TV channels, there was groupism in the team and this has always been there. Even the Board bosses seem to be encouraging this. Under these circumstances, even the best of captains will be made to look ordinary. Give Dravid a bunch of young players and look how he will manage them and make them winners. Dravid, are u reading this?

why you people always blaming only captain is responsible.
there is also 10 other players, there is sachin, sehwag and sourav,
fukin8 sourav what he did and that master flaster what he did and also sehwag, if you he all three matches he did better he could.
you must know that this is partner game one player can not play this is not a guly danda.
you fuckin8 always blaming only captain and coach.
This is a team work and every one is getting money for that not only captain and coach only.
If you don't listen you father, and if you don't care then, what he can do alone.
there was one three groups. one is sachin, second is sourav and third was captain.
every one doing his own.
every one is resnosible for that.
Blaming is very easy but try to under stand that you are also responsible some where.

I honestly feel Rahul Dravid is not a good and forceful leader. His reading of the situation went awefully wrong many times. A good leader is the one who can fore - see the problems and challenge the teams to stand up to it. He chokes at the crunch situations.
He is a good player spoiled by being made as a captain and politics. Let someone young and daring as Ganguly take up the mantle.
