Hello. I have the reiki second degree since 2003. I would like to offer to the people all over the world reiki distance treatment. What do you think about that idea ? I would like to set up my web page-desribing shortly reiki, how it works, short history of reiki, fiew words about myself, contact form etc. I would like to charge some money for my time, not for reiki itself. I would like to give to the people choice how much they want to pay for thr reiki distance treatment (by PayPal). Should I to register my own company etc. ? Daniel

Well, I feel offering Reiki is good and about payment, it is up to you and the clients to decide. About the company, you need to check with the laws of your state and country.

I am Reiki Level 3. I understand payment for hands-on reiki sessions with a client, but I would not feel comfortable about charging for distance healing. If you wish to make a living from Reiki, why not make it through client based hands-on sessions.
Either way .... I like the idea of spreading Reiki.
As for registering a company... you would need to check the tax laws for where you live... in some cases you can just register yourself as self employed rather than as a company. However, you may need to register as a company to protect your own self interests... once you are recieving a payment for a service there is a contract between you and the client. . and of course, they could possibly sue you if they felt that that contract had been broken... so you would definitely need insurance at any rate - that applies to both online and present clients. . . It is not beyond the realms of possibility that someone could sue you for any "percieved" ill effects following either a distance or actual treatment.
Good luck.

I've never known any therapist to charge for distance healing. In the initial Reiki treatment I/ they do charge, but a follow up is usually given for free. The choice is yours..however, if you are practicing any kind of holistic therapies on the public, you MUST be fully insured first and hold all the necessary qualifications. Contact a relevant governing body such as FHT, EMBODY or BABTAC and they will be able to give you more advice.

I spent £250 on Reiki sessions and they did not work, that's my experience of Reiki like it or not...

The healer who treated me was local and 2nd degree, i attended with an open mind, afterwards my health got worse .... maybe she was not correctly attuned or maybe i was not in a receiving state? just reporting my experience. Thanks.......(10 sessions)

IF u want to accept money as an income in return for services and u r in the UK you have to register as a business within 3 months of trading at your local tax office, it's very easy and also they will arrange to take class 2 national insurance stamp payments (about £5 a week direct debit) Then every April 5th you need to fill in a simple tax form and return it or do it online (there u go easy) Ebay has a dedicated merchant account that takes credit card payments it would need to be intergrated in with your website (web designer's job) they have low charges of about 3.5% and around 20p for each transaction alternatively u can just ask people to send a payment to your email address through paypal.

I think charging is up to the individual as well as depending on the client's ability to pay. I am happy to charge for Reiki treatments if the means to pay me is there. Otherwise, in particular where distant healing is concerned, I am willing to work without payment. The rewards will come later.

That is what I do for a living actually.... I don't make millions but I survive pretty well doing it. I do have clients in person as well but I do reach a lot more people distantly :)

I saw someone do this on Ebay. I think it's a good idea. But when you mention money, people get skeptical. So you could say, I accept donations, at your discretion, if it helped you please donate as I have to make a living also. But if it didn't....
