I am not proud of my nation because of what it is TODAY. I am proud of what our forefathers had to do to establish such a powerful nation, but now all of that has gone to waste. Power is being abused daily in America, and I'm sick and tired of it. Down with politicians, and up with the people! (I am not a liberal)

Most Americans are proud to be an American

we have a long line of people wanting to come into this country...I am not familar with the baptist church you are talking about...
when you live in a country as big and diverse as ours is you have a lot of different views...some are good and some are just nuts..that is what happens when you live in a free country..it has its faults too

No, we are not all like them, thank God. They are a very small minority. I do stand up to them, I am a Patriot Guard rider. We provide a visual and audible shield to the families of soldiers who have been killed. We do this with motorcycles and American flags. Those creeps come to the funerals and try to disrupt them and insult the families. They are amaziningly heartless people by my account.

With all due respect, and I mean that sincerely, I think you may be getting a skewed view of America through the various news outlets such as CNN & the BBC.

I hope your realize that we are people, who by the way originated from England/Scotland for the most part, and yes, we do have a certain pride. Although, I think we are losing our national pride as we go...

America is in the process of being "culturally and ethnically Balkanized". We have less of a national identity now than we did back fifty years ago or earlier. Back then people, while still being conscious of their roots and heritage, could still say first and foremost "I am an American". You don't see as much of that here now. One evidence of that is how people here refer to themselves - You are more likely to hear people say "I'm African-American" or "I'm Hispanic-American" or "I'm Irish-American" rather than "I'm an American, of (fill in the blank) ancestory".

Part of the demise of national identity here is in my opinion due to the extreme emphasis on individuality here, and doing your own thing. Concepts such as public service for the public good really aren't promoted here, in schools or other venues like they once were. Pride in our country or it's accomplishments (and yes, there have been many) are not spoken of much anymore. Yes, America needs to be aware of parts of it's past that are negative, but there should be balance with that - we've gone too far IMO with that......

Sir, pride in ones nation here is somewhat of a closet case situation. Many Americans are self loathing, those that are not are often tagget as national socialists, nativists, etc.

This is a nationa where it is very difficult to display national pride, other than in the most benign ways due to PC culture and extremist agendas.

I am extremely proud of America for having the foresight to revolt against that mo King of yours, King George, during the Revolutionary War. Just think if we stayed a colony of England we to would also be an insignificant 3rd rate country today.

The USA should be proud. But ashamed they take everything before anyone else can get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For example If japan invents something the usa buys that product so fast that it is sold out and contries like australia try and order it and japan says it won't be available again until they make more so australia has to wait like 7 years !!!!!

meanwhile america is moving on to bigger and better things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
