I don't think that applies to ALL British men. Your comment reveals a cultural prejudice, that is, what's 'girlish' in one culture is masculine in another.

For example, Arab men often hold hands as an act of friendship. Many Americans would consider this effeminate.

British men are generally better educated and more sophiscated than American men. British workers enjoy on average about 6 weeks of paid vacation per year, while U.S. workers are lucky to get 1-2 weeks.

Consequently, British men are better travelled and more balanced than U.S. men, who are stuck in their little neighborhoods, without exposure to culture, fashion, the arts, or popular entertainment.

In other words, American men have to work more and have less time to enjoy life and to develop themselves as people.

As a result, Americans perceive British men as 'girlish.' Nothing could be more false. British men are brave and masculine, but they are lucky to live in a country where they are rewarded for hard work, unlike the U.S., where only the ultra rich enjoy a refined lifestyle.

There is a pretty wide range of what it means to be British. Not all of them are Meterosexuals from London. I find Mexican culture to be much more gay.... with the tight jeans, shinny jewelry, overly done hair and perfume, heels, etc.

To my British brothers from a real American (me). Please disregard this ignorant homosexuals comments. He obviously has serious underlying issues. Maybe he tried to pick up a straight Brit. and got the snot beat out of him. Yup, I bet that's it. Anyway, just remember, most of us think the King's English sounds perfectly fine.

Just because British men choose to fight their battles with words whereas American men choose to fight with guns doesn't mean a thing. Oh, I'm sorry, was I putting American Men into a box and stamping a LABEL onto them? My bad....
