The ignition switch on the dash panel has a cover that flips up from the left to the right. The ignition lock is under this cover.

JKC is exactly right. My wife owns a Road King, and the lock for the ignition is located in the center panel on the gas tank beneath a lid that flips up. That's where the ignition lock is.

My Heritage Classic has the same setup.

Just turn the barrel lock the other direction with the key and it locks the ignition.

Doesn't locking the steering constitute locking the ignition?
The factory alarm system disables the ignition.
