How To Find Raikou In Pokemon Crystal?

i am playing pokemon crystal currently and i can't find the pokemon raikou, can anyone tell me where to catch it?

First and foremost, the most important thing to ask is have you awakened them yet. If not, go to Ecruteak, enter the Burned Tower, make your way to the basement (fall down one of the holes, I think.) and then approach the three statues. Those statues should spring to life and run away. Now, immediately go outside, and start searching in the grassy regions outside Ecruteak (preferably the route below the city leading to Goldenrod). This is the part that takes the most time and effort.

Ensure that before you do so, you have a pokemon at the front of your party who knows Sing/Sleep Powder/Hypnosis that also has a high speed rating (I recommend a high level Haunter.) and also lots and lots of Ultra Balls. Note that encountering any of the legendary dogs (Entei/Raikou/Suicune) is totally up to chance. The moment that you encounter one, immediately put him to sleep and start throwing those balls. Chances are he'll break out and escape. Fret not, however, as the first encounter will allow you to track where the dog is using your Pokedex. After that it is merely a matter of ensuring that your paths cross and searching in the grass. Patience and luck is the most essential thing.

You need to awaken him first. Then you need to search for him at random and hope you get lucky. But once you encounter him once, you can find him in your pokedex and check his location through there. Just remember everytime you move to a different area, Raikou does too. So it will take some major trial and error of going to the route below ecruteak town, checking raikous location on the pokedex, and if hes not there you go back to ecruteak town and then back to the route below again and repeat. Ive spent hours trying to get him on the same route as me and its a pain. But it will eventually work

u must beat the elite trainers and then as you walk around areas where there should be wild pokemon sometimes u will enter raikou

You can track him with your pokedex. Then where ever he is, fly there and go into the grass/cave where he is. Try running into him for like 5 minutes and if u don't find him, look at your pokedex and repeat my trick.

once you defeat the elite four. The professor upgrades your pokedex so you can follow the legendary dogs. So just when you see it once you can follow it. I first saw it in the grass just above goldenrod city. Then after that i followed him and caught him.

Use ctrl+f and search for Raiku. According to the guide, you can find it near Jhoto or in random wild areas.
