Okay, this is a long story so I will cut it short. I want broadband and decided to go with Virgin as I thought it would be a nice bonus to have the TV package as well, but then they lost the Sky channels so I cancelled and decided to go with Sky instead. However, Sky has since sent 2 engineers to my flat who can’t decided between them whether or not I can actually get a signal and so are sending a third, so it may well be that I can’t get that either. (Besides, I am now fast loosing patience with them.)
So, I am looking now for an alternate broadband provider. I have a BT line and don’t want to transfer my phone line to anyone else (e.g., with Tiscali it seems that you have to have a phone and broadband package). The AOL package for unlimited looks quite good, but I hear bad things about AOL.
Am looking to spend about £15 a month. Can anyone help me?!
Thanks also for listening to me rant!

Sounds like you've had fun!!!
What may be helpful for your situation would be to visit a broadband comparison website -if you have access to the internet- enter your postcode/phone number and it will list all the current broadband options available to you!
I am personally with AOL and have had no problems with my broadband connection/service!
The comparison site lists all of the major broadband providers and also some of the lesser known providers whose customer service is excellent, such as Eclipse Internet.
Hope this helps!

It depends if you want the whole package with tv etc. We have AOL silver and it is cheap and unlimited and works great. We got upgrade and got a wireless routher for free, so using it with 2 computers. We didnt like the AOL windows so we dont use them and we got rid of them so we are using only the actual AOL connection. Have a look http://info.aol.co.uk/broadband/broadband.adp

Believe me I am not a salesman for BT but I recently got BT broadband and found it easy to set up and no problems...they come out quite near the top on most surveys and have three levels of access to Broadband depending on how much you need to download..5Gb 8Gb or unlimited.

Go to http://www.zen.co.uk/broadband/athome.aspx They are always top of the best ISP lists. Their cheapest is £17.99 a month but you get fantastic service for this. Also, you are on a rolling month to month contract so you're not signing up for a year or more, like all the others.

the 2d huge type they provide you is incomprehensible truly. you will in no way might desire to apply it. people can nonetheless use your favourite huge type. it might desire to have something to do with BT understanding which you're employing the internet on your calls. so purely activate it like it says interior the e-mail - you will notice your dial tone grow to be greater extreme pitched - it is once you're arranged to telephone over the internet. in case you press the 5 button on your telephone it truly is going to change you lower back on your landline. even nevertheless it truly is confusing. BT needs to simplify it great time!
