I study Demography in my Actuarial course. I was taught that the ratio at birth is 104 Male to 100 Females. But females live longer (a bump in male mortality rate at 20~25 for males), so in the end, it more or less evens out.

There are more females to males, I think the ratio is about 51:49.
More males are born (ratio about 105:100) but females survive in higher ratio to adulthood, and live longer, so the ratio is eventually reversed.

I do believe that there are more males than females on Earth.
I think that there is proof of this fact. I'm not sure as to where, maybe through census counts.
