When the mother life will be endangered by having the baby. This would be a lifesaving measure, which is almost always acceptable.

When the mother is raped. This is no fault of the mother. She should not have to pay for what someone else has done to her. The rapist should be shot though.

I'm a republican and this is such a difficult subject and one that just can't be given a flip answer. I honestly feel that it is such a personal decision, one which can be based on so many different factors, and that can be anything from rape to incest to where someone is just not ready to have a child. Yes, I know that if you are not ready to have a child then you shouldn't be having sex, but in the real world, people do.. I have a real problem with it when it becomes a form of birth control, where someone has one after another. THAT is wrong, and I see no argument for it at all.

you are all going to hate me unless you read the whole thing so please don't judge me by my first sentence because i will explain all. the answer is never. the reasons are as follows one it hurts women in future pregnancies according to the american college of gynecology and obstetristics in articles they published. two because although some women are okay afterwards the vast majority are not properly prepared for the outcome of there decisions. three because according to the many scientists life begins at conception. i know that many embryo's spontaniously abort themselves but we are obliged to protect life from deliberate termination from any outside force. ok now to the hard cases in the life of the mother argument i would say that the principal of double effect comes into play if a women requiring surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy or a cancerous uterus is pregnant and the child dies, that is considered ok because it is a secondary effect of a surgery required to save the mothers life. i think that every pregnant woman should be treated as such and the doctors should try and do everything in there power to save them both. ok the rape arguments in a small study of women (although it is small it was the only one done so far) who were raped 85% said they regreted there decision to have an abortion and they remembered the abortion long after the truama of the rape had faded. over 90% said that they would not recommend abortion to a rape victim. also on the other side none of the women who gave birth regreted there decision. i think that pretty much sums up that argument. now for the incest argument if a child is a victim of incest having an abortion often covers it up and allows it to continue for years longer than if the pregnancy had been allowed to carry to term. and yes it is true that many abortion clinics don't ask questions when it comes to the father so they don't know and or report incest as they are required to do so by law. now for the last and final argument fetal deformity. the answer here is simple it is discrimination. i hope these answers are acceptable to you. i have tried to make a thorough study of abortion from both sides and after five years i am barely scratching the surface yet these answers come from my heart and are the answers i would give any one and these answers i feel are right and we need to help women who are pregnant not hurt them by telling them there is something wrong with it and so they need an abortion. a true feminist would understand that in order to be equal with men women shouldn't require surgery to change her.

Why just Republicans?
Are you thinking that ALL Republicans are against abortion? AND are you thinking that ONLY Republicans are against abortion?
I can answer this as a person, but it has no bearing on my political party... which is more independent, than anything else.
As a person, the only time I believe abortion is acceptable is when the mother's body naturally aborts the baby, as in a miscarriage. This is also the view of many of my friends and family members who are staunch Democrats.

RAPE, INCEST & LIFE OF THE MOTHER...

The reasonable and sensible position shared by the vast majority of Americans. It shouldn't be used just because some pig ties a mattress to her back and then regrets it later.
