My condolences to his family and to all the fans who remember hearing him call the Twins games.

He was a Minnesota legend, but his role diminished bit by bit the past few years. The past couple it's been almost all John Gordon and Dan Gladden, with Herb just doing a couple innings per game.

I got to meet Herb a couple times....classy guy. He always had time to shake someone's hand.

If you are a bastion and an icon like Herb Carniel you will be missed by a host of people who could rely on hearing his voice and following the game realizing that he was special and could broadcast a game as uniquely as he. you get use to a certain voice like the old Pirate fans did with Bob Prince that it will take time to adjust but Herb would probably want it that way.

Oh my gosh YES!
I was SO sad when I heard that he had died!
I am a die-hard twins fan, and I'm definetly sad to not be able to hear his voice anymore.
:(
My condolences also go out to his family and everyone!
Much love!
:)
GO TWINS!!!
