If it's a good quality one, it should have the maker's name on the bottom. Take it to an antique store and ask them if they can help you.

Most ceramic objects have a maker's mark on them. They are not always easy to see or to find, but chances are good that there is one on your teapot somewhere.

Before you go researching the mark, you can save yourself a lot of time by first trying to narrow down the country of origin of the teapot. There are ton's of resources on the internet, but start with the obvious stuff, like decoration, style and provenance if any. This site has some links that may be useful as well
