Green Bay Wisconsin is known for producing cheese, hence the cheese heads.

Actually, when they entered the league they were founded by the green bay packing and shipping company, which specialized in shipping... you guessed it cheese,and as it has been said Wisconsin is the major supplier of American dairy products. The cheese head thing was started as an insult form Chicago Bears fans as they are there major rival, Packer fans turned it in to a rallying cry or calling card.

Wisconsin is known as "America's Dairyland", producing cheese, thus the cheesehead hats. It is all in good fun, and sets us aside from the other fans in the NFL. As to the Bears cutting the cheese, I am sure they are all good at it, as most Bear fans are full of s***. I should know-I married one. LOL

It's was a catchy marketing idea that was successful.

Wisconsin is know for it's cheese and the Packers so they market both of them both at the games.

wisconsin is the dairy land state. green bay produces cheese. for some reason a connection was made and thats what we do.

Because of the cold harsh windy winters oxygen flow to the brain is diminished so they just decided to do something cheesy. Their original idea was to put fudge on their heads but then people would call them the fudge packers.
