I was actually never a resident of the state in which I was born. My parents lived in NY near the PA state line, and the nearest hospital was across the border, so...
I'm still a resident of NY, though -- have been most of my life.

No, I was married to a 30 year Army military career soldier and thus traveled all over the world AND the United States and ended up in the last state he was stationed in. It was not the state I was born and raised in but since we bought our house here, our grown children followed us here. They then had children of their own.
My husband and I divorced but since my children and grandchildren are now here, it would be too hard to move now.
