Generally, (not always as many people before you have stated) liberals are more likely to want less government regulation in social issues and more government interaction in financial issues. (i.e gay marriage should be free to everyone and things like Medicare and welfare should be more prevalent in society) I think in your statement your twisting words around. Although I'm not sure how eugenicists felt about abortion that idea is not accepted by many people today, liberal or conservative. Instead i feel as a liberal myself that there should be a freedom of choice if the person wants. No one is forcing abortion upon people or making them get rid of there babies. Instead, it is just another option available out there

I don't think that it is eugenics. I don't agree with abortion, but where do you draw the line? Is a child of a rape less of a human being because his mother was raped? I think not, but many people would say it is OK for a rape victim to have an abortion. I think I am pretty liberal, and have said I don't like abortion, but I would not stop an early stage abortion. I don't think that a cluster of cells is a human being because it has a potential to become one. Should we forbid masturbation for men or menstruation without sex for women? I recommend that you read a book called "Freakenomics." It provides an interesting take on the subject, and many others.

You are comparing apple and oranges!
Euthanizing someone who is a person, alive and breathing is far different than a fetus!
I don't condone abortions, I am not willing to place my views on someone else, usually 2 people, to have a life of pure hell! That is their decision! I ought to know, I investigated child abuse for 16 years and you haven't seen what people do to their children!
II am not against PBA if the life of the mother is at risk. That is a terrible decision to make and I am not going to force my views down her throat!
I had some friends I was close with. I worked with the mother and knew all of her children well! Her Youngest, who was a sweetheart was married and got pregnant at the age of 20. A month or so after learning of her pregnancy, she learned she had breast cancer. Her choice was to either abort or to wait to treat the cancer with drugs after the birth!
Well she chose to have the child, who is a sweet little 6 year old who looks like her mother! She still had a lumpectomy and started her chemo after the child was born. She died at the age of 22! She will never see her little girl become a woman, and her little girl will never have really known her mother! Is there a winner in that?
I am not prepared to make that decision and I am surprised that people like you are!
I am against capital punishment with the exception of mass murderers,
I am against the war in Iraq.
I bet you are for the war in Iraq, the death penalty, and not supporting those who do have children, as they are not supported now! How much have you given!
I would say my beliefs are far more consistent than yours are!
My God is not a vindictive one! If anyone is going to judge, I prefer to leave it up to Him!

They believe in "freedom of choice", which are perhaps the dumbest three words ever spoken by a vertebrate animal.
I'm not sure about "Liberals", most people don't even know what that means. So let's keep it simple and rat about the pro-abortions only (yes they do exist): The only reason why they aren't killing the handicapped is because the handicapped have all the proper paperwork to identify them as "citizens". Without this paperwork, they can be killed immediately and without warrant.
Whenever I see a worthless pro-abortionist protesting on the streets for "free abortions on demand" I have to wonder why these same people aren't fighting for "bad car maintenance on demand". Bad car maintenance leads to problems, problems lead to car accidents, car accidents are way better than abortions; they remove bad drivers from the highways, thus getting rid of that swerving, nasty @#$%^ you honked at the other day and making our lives significantly MORE CONVENIENT! Furthermore, car accidents kill people. Killing is great. Tragedy is beautiful. If only those women who actually go to abortion clinics would stop crying and hating themselves and actually learn to realize the wonderful gift, the freedom they have been granted by pro-abortion America. Free abortions and bad service for everyone! Hurray for love!

Interesting perspective. Planned Parenthood's origins are as you say. It was to limit births among the poor, I seem to recall it specifically targeted blacks, but don't quote me. In spite of its origins, Planned Parenthood and its flagship service to society - abortions, is doing well and has shed its past. They kill babies of all races and socio-economic status. Now for the shocker. I'm a conservative and I'm pro killing babies. I won't sugar coat it and call it pro-choice, a woman has a right to control her own reproductive system, and blah blah. No pussy footing around it, I approve of abortions. I will change my opinion the day that my taxes don't have to pay for welfare families who procreate at will and stick me with the bill to pay for the upbringing of the children. If the gov't is not authorized to intervene before unwanted pregnancies occur, then how can the gov't be responsible for the result later? I say kill unwanted babies, and mandatory birth control until you satisfy parental qualification standards. When the gov't is no longer responsible to pay for procreation burdens, I'll change my position. Yes there are many more aspects to the issue, but for brevity, I'll stop.

Liberals are characterized as being solely "pro-choice" by people who wish to denigrate Liberals and their ideology. Not all Liberals are pro-choice, and not all conservatives are pro-life. If you are going to ask and answer political questions, I suggest that you start to realize that no matter what "label" people use for themselves (or others) we are all individuals!
Of course, "pro-choice" only has negative connotations to people who are "pro-life", so about 37% of conservatives wouldn't be bothered about someone's pro-choice status anyway.
NO ONE wants women to have abortions!! When one is pro-choice they are only saying that it is an individual's right, and a decision that only they can make and take responsibility for!
Many people tell the parents of children with birth defects that they should have aborted the baby. (There are VERY cruel people in this world!) Once again, that is THEIR choice!

I'm pro-choice, not because I think that people should go out and solve their problems with abortion. I want it for those few incidents like the baby and mother are both going to die anyways. I'm not pro-abortion, I'm very against people going out to kill a baby because they had a one-night stand and I don't believe in abortion because a child has birth defect. It's ultimately not my choice with others bodies.
You could probably go the other way with the death penalty. Why is that allowed? Why is okay to kill a murderer with murder? Does that make you a better person?

To answer your last question, doctors who perform legal abortions do not counsel parents on whether they should or shouldn't. That's the parent's decision. Pro-choice is not a "non-liberal idealogy." To have the choice is a liberty.

For starters, a lot of Democrats are AGAINST abortion. About 31% are pro-life.
And 40% of the Republicans are pro-choice! Amazing but true.
There's no excuse for abortion in a civilized society. So in the end, your party is little better than the Democrats!!
