It depends. One can write a lot but say nothing and on the other hand one can speak volume without writing much. I prefer one who speaks volume whether long-winded or directly to the point.

Although I consider myself a to the point type of person, I do not always get to the point directly. I get very long winded. I like to explain myself. Yes, I know most of the time no one cares what my opinion or advice would be they just want a direct answer. But, I feel I need to help them understand my point of view a little more clearly by explaining my thoughts. Besides I do not have anyone else to talk to right now so it is Answers that must suffer my long winded spill to ease my need to converse with someone.

Lots of time I see the question when it is first posted and there have been no answers. Probably like in this instance but, by the time I finish with my answer sometimes I am on the second page and I know no one even reads my answer.

Does that answer your question?

Usually to the point. I have a short attention span and when posts are super long, forget it - I won't even start reading it. But I guess sometimes it's necessary to give a detailed answer. I can never see why a book must be written though to answer any question.

It depends on what the person is answering. Like if someone is helping me fix my pc I want detailed answers (but not long winded) if I ask my friend if I'm being an idiot, I want a direct answer!

Depends on the question, silly Qs get short and sweet, serious Qs deserve great detail.

Well, I don't like "yes" or "no" answers when I want an opinion.
At the same time, I hate it when people copy a 1000-word answer off some website and paste it.
