Drop off at a local shelter or with relatives (explain was found in garden, trying to get in front door or something)
Next go home and prepare a nice meal as way of an apology-chicken might be nice. Buy a gift- something you can both enjoy perhaps.
But be responsible - write a memo- Don't forget to collect wife from shelter or relatives!

Put in one of those static cling sheets. I'll bet the fur is really going to fly when your wife gets home. She will have some real catty remarks for you. The only danger is that your kitten may shrink and be half the size it was. Did the tag on it give washing instructions?

It's better to drip dry a kitten. Hang it by its tail on a line. The drying process will be assisted by him flinging around attempting to get down.

Take him to the laundrymat, along with $.50 in quarters, he should be dry by then. If the wife ask, where is the kitten. Tell her you took it to get groomed. :)

Did you spin cycle him first? I would wring him out too and give him a little fluff dry. Don't forget the Downy.

Don't take the chance of her finding him in the dryer, just take him outside and hang him over the clothes line.
