you know that any scientific calculator(under $20 has a sin cos and tan button on them. so lets see what the old TI 86 says

cos 36 = 6/t
get the cos of 36 from calculator
.809016994375 = 6/t
multiply both sides by 1/6
.134836165729= t

Hey there, I'm assuming you need to solve t. So just cross multiply your equation.

cos 36 = 6/t
t cos 36 = 6
t = 6/cos 36
t = 7.416

I assume this is in degrees. Go to your table and find the Cosine of 36 deg. (about 0.8). Then solve (t= about 7.5)
