It depends on the teachers and those that run the school. While maintaining discipline, if the teachers are their friends, it will contribute in a helpful way. If the teachers' main concern is how the children reflect on them, (the teachers,) it might be in a harmful way. The teachers that are liked by their students are the good ones. They still maintain discipline and are much more affective.

It depends on the kids at the school more than anything, to be perfectly honest with you. If the kids are nice, and want to make friends with the child then the child will come to the assumption that he is a great person (self esteem raised). If kids are mean, then he will think less of himself/herself (self esteem lowered).

i used to go to a french public school last year ( 7th grade)( i live in switzerland) i dont speak A WORD of french , well at least i didnt then, and the teachers called me stupid , and no one wanted to be my friend , cuz who honestly wants a friend who cant talk , so i began to believe i was stupid , and a nobody ... so i closed my self off .. not just at school but at home too , and so my mom got mad at me, and my sister too , and we were constantly fighting . ive never felt so alone in my life , i cried myself to sleep so many times ... but then my mom realised it wasnt a good school , so now i go to an international school .. its pricy i guess , so we dont have a car to make up for the expense , and live in a tiny apartment , but ive never been happier.. its in engilsh , so i have friends , and im doing well , and i have a waaay higher self esteem .. so i guess skool can erally help , or really kill your self esteem

It could be helpful if the child have good friends and encourage the child to do good in school and which promotes good self esteem by being proud of ones self and having parents say wow " you got an "A"" and it could also be bad because then people might make fun of you and call you names or you might want to be something you are not..

would you please answer this question please thanks :)
