your friend probably meant to say the Salvation Army. Its a place where people donate their unwanted or unused items. People then go to the salvation army and buy what was donated to the store, for a much cheaper price.

It means that your friend does not find the computer of any further use to him: maybe he is going to buy a new one, or finds that what he has doesn't work well, or simply that he finds no one who wants to use the computer in his home or office.
So, he wants to donate it to the Salvation Army who would then sell the computer at a lower price after carrying out some repairs, if necessary, and use the amount for their charity work among the poor, downtrodden, etc.

It's not the Salivaton Army...it's the Salvation Army, which is a charitable organization which accepts unwanted items from people, then sells them to the public for a very low price. They use the money from the sales to help the homeless and other unfortunate people.

He is giving it to a charitable organization called "The Salvation Army." Link below tells you more about it:

It is safer for yourself and your friend not to mention your full names on the internet like this. It is best to just say "my friend" and leave off the "sign" and your name.
