did the saints make a mistake by letting joe horn leave even though he asked to.? Do you think people will resent coach payton for that? I saw Horn on tv and it seemed like he dont like the coach very much

No. Horn is old. And if he wants to go, then forcing him to stay makes him, at best, a malcontent (or worse, a cancer).

Plus look at the 2006 stats:

REC * YDS * AVG * LONG * TD

Marques Colston: 70 * 1038 * 14.8 * 86 * 8
Devery Henderson: 32 * 745 * 23.3 * 76 * 5
Reggie Bush: 88 * 742 * 8.4 * 74 * 2
Joe Horn : 37 * 679 * 18.4 * 72 * 4
Terrance Copper: 23 * 385 * 16.7 * 48 * 3

No they didn't make a mistake. Horn is a little overrated, and the Saints don't need him and his attitude anymore now that they have Colston, Copper, and the rest of their young, talented receivers. Horn is old and he'll probably only play for another 2 or 3 years, if that, so it's a smart move to develop their younger players.

No. Joe Horn is aging, and he was injured alot this season. They have the young Marques Colston, 7th round WR, who had over a thousand yards recieving this season. They have Devery Henderson, and Terrance Copper. I don't think they need Joe Horn anymore.

As the saying goes, "you can't make the club in the tub". Horn probably thought he was entitled to a roster spot since he's a La. native. If so, he though wrong.

I think they made a mistake, yes. Fans usually do hold stuff like that against the teams and their coaches.

I think they also made a mistake taking my Bengals Brian Simmons. Great leader, locker room motivator they say. BUT he's in his 30's now and had lots of injuries last season that sidelined him often. Good luck with him on your roster.

GEAUX SAINTS

Who are we to judge what coach peyton is doing with the team? Seemed like he knew what he was doing last year.

If a player doesn't want to be somewhere he doesn't need to be there. He can become a distraction to the team.I do understand that you hope he will change his mind ,but it's business.
