what is an mp3 and how can i convert songs?

i am trying to get some songs from the windows media player onto myspace and it keeps telling me that the song is not an mp3.

it is a format and if you had an Ipod you would know what it is you have to have Windows Media Converter

If u want to conver songs into MP3 format you can use iTunes jus click on the tab on the top left corner thats named "advanced" and click on "Convect Selection to MP3"
