That's actually part of the problem. Having an ice-free shipping route through the Arctic Ocean at least part of the year would be worth untold billions of dollars in terms of East Asia-to-Europe trade. That's a powerful incentive for corporate interests to pressure governments to go easy on efforts to curb global warming.

So even while trying to make a boneheaded joke, you struck upon the core element in the policy debate. Congratulations! Maybe you learned something in spite of yourself.

Not selfish, I'd say you would be a wise investor doing what would help get back the most profit for you investment.
