Because you are just starting out with periods, irregularity is very common as the body tries to adjust to the hormonal changes going on inside of it over the next year or so.
Pls also discuss your concern with your mom and dr.

I'm 16 and my periods are just starting to come regularly. Just exercise and drink water. Its strange for me because I usually skip a month. There starting to come more regular though and since your 14 you shouldn't worry. If your 16 and still have your period every 4-8 months talk to your doctor. You got a while so don't stress!

I am 14 -- had my period at 13-- and my period didn't come back for months after my first. You'll be okay, just wait until you go on a regular schedule. It's different for everyone's body, yours is just taking longer.

When you first get your period you will be very irregular for the first year or so. This is perfectly normal. You should start settling into some kind of a pattern fairly soon though.

It's completly normal not to be on a regular schedule when first starting. It will evetually get into a normal cycle as you get older. Don't worry to much but if you need anymore advice talk to your mom or if you have an older sister or talk to you doctor if you want to understand more on whats going on. I'm sure everything will be fine.

When you hit puberty, it can take a while for your body to get all of its new processes straight. Lots of girls don't have normal cycles for a year or two. Make sure you eat right and exercise and everything should turn out okay.

Talk to your doctor. Sometimes it takes a few years for your periods to even out and become regular, but you should talk to your doc just to rule out any other potential problems.

you might need to talk to your doctor but there are a lot of people who dont have normal periods and having a balanced diet, drinking lots of water, exercising, etc will make your period more regular
