They're all great activities for girls. I guess it just depends on the individual and what interests her. Plus, they'll never know how much they may like it or how good they can become at it unless they try. Why not do all of them? LOL.

It depends on the personality and body type of the girl. Dancing and gymnastics can be tough on some girls because in order to advance and to be really good, there will probably end up being pressure for the girl to lose weight. I think there is a higher incidence of eating disorders among those who are very into sports in which being small is an advantage.

Cheerleading requires a certain type of outgoing personality, so that would have to be taken into account. Volleyball is a team sport, while karate is an individual one, so that would have to be taken into account, also. All activities work for some girls and not for others, and I don't think anyone can really make that decision for someone else.

I would go with volleyball. It is a team sport that develops a group of friends. It is great exercise. It is easier than the other choices you listed so getting good at it is simpler to do.

That's about the age i got into volleyball, i really loved it. I also made some amazing friends and a good team bond.

I also used to take karate, it's good to know how to defend yourself and disipline, etc.

Although, I always wished i were able to take gymnastics..
