Some movies have the same name-like the new movie Disturbia that has nothing in common with the Italian horror classic. Are movie titles copyrighted? Or can they just keep recycling titles?

if i'm correct unless its actually a proper noun (eg ghostbusters) they cant put a copyright on the title but on the content of the movie and the soundtrack for simple fact that u cant copyright the english language otherwise we would never be able to talk without paying someone for what wwe say. i believe that's y the name can be a registered trade mark but not copyrighted.

I always wondered about that too, the re-used Bad Boys and the newer one is not a re-make. 1st one with sean penn and the other with martin lawrence. then I remember The Sentinel, and old horror movie from the 70's and new one with Micheal Douglas is a action film.. they re-use movie names all the time..
