They could really mean what they say when they say " I love you no matter what". Wouldn't that be lovely?

Less praying and crying would have helped-but I just stayed away from them until they finally decided that they'd better accept it or they weren't going to have a relationship with me. I wasn't trying to punish them-I just couldn't take the drama. But I also had other issues with them, so I know many people couldn't choose the path I did.

If I could have had some kind of idea of how they felt about being homosexual...years ago, when I was a scared teenager and afraid to say anything, and known they were OK with it, I would have come out much sooner. as it happened, my father passed away before I could come out to him. my mother and step dad, brother, and other members of my family have been very accepting. I came out to friends and coworkers long before I came out to family. I didn't come out to family until nearly 3 years ago.

For one, they could have left off the screaming and yelling when they caught me en femme. Also, they could have not made it so apparent that they wanted me to act like a boy and have a girlfriend. They always made me feel bad about playing with dolls and wanting to "be like mom," more than be like dad.

It was hard, but I don't think I'd want it to have been easy. The difficulty I face everyday has shaped me into who I am and I wouldn't want it any other way.

... That's my honest answer. It's also the lamest, most cliche thing you'll ever get out of me. ;)

When our stepdaughter came out, we told her that we loved her, but wouldn't accept her choice. It was tough, we almost gave in a couple of times, but our patience was rewarded. That was until my wife left me for another woman and I realised what a moron I had been.

After 6 years she discovered she was bisexual and is now engaged to marry a great man. Her sexuality didn’t change, she’s always going to have these sexual feelings for women. I’m bigoted, so it’s easy to convince myself she’s totally straight.

I suggest all parents accept their kids, I didn’t and I’m a bitter old man now. That’s why I spend so much time being abusive to strangers on this site.

well it was hard to tell my mother and grandmother i'm bi. 1 becuz my gramma is a bible thumping christian and b4 and after i told her outta her mouth came leviticus ch 18 verse 21 i think it is where mankind is not to lie with mankind as one does with womankind. i don't believe tha bible to be complete truth. at one time it was but i believe that tha catholics changed it.

my mother was pretty good bout it.

i won't be telling my father becuz i have a non-existant father/son relationship with him and i've talked to him bout religion and gay marraige before and he told me if i ever told him i were gay, he'd disown me.

Not have been catholic and then baptising me catholic - it just made me want to ask more questions when i got older. And um I don't know catholics can be pretty condemning of everything.

They knew I was gay even before I know it myself. Yet, they remained vocally homophobic as if to make me turn out straight.
