Such as a Bruce Springsteen concert, and then record the shows to trade with other people. Such as, I have a show from June 1st, and my friend has a show from July 1st. Can we trade each other and both have both shows, as long as we aren't benefiting monetarily, and Bruce Springsteen is on record saying he doesn't mind the practice.

Please include the legal reference where you get the information. Thank you

For electronic and audio-visual media, unauthorized reproduction and distribution is often referred to as piracy or theft

The distribution, as in the monetary benefit is where the illegality lies. The link below explains Copyright Infringement.

I'm not sure but I thought that it was only illegal if you were recording for monetary benefit or using it for a public showing. That is what the disclaimer is on all videos and some of the show you see on TV. But I think for personal home viewing it is okay.

Most venues and arenas have small print on the ticket or signs at the location that say that cameras and video recorders are banned. Doing anything for money would be illegal and if you are caught, you can be thrown out of the concert.

Usually before any live broadcast an announcer states the it is ILLEGAL to rebroadcast, and/or distribute the program to the public(including your friends) without the consent of those who own the rights to the program. So you CAN record live programs but ONLY for yourself.
