Harden by a longshot. If he stays healthy (big if...just like Pavano) he will be right in the thick of the Cy Young race. His stuff is among the nastiest in all of baseball and this spring he was almost unhittable, Pavano if he even stays healthy will fold under the pressure of pitching in NY not to mention that he isnt well liked in his own clubhouse....he has been called out publicly because his own teammates dont think he has put in the work to be a good pitcher. Pavano gets the opening day start only by default, he wont even keep his job in the rotation all year in all likeliness.

Rich Harden is obviously less injury prone than Pavano so I think Harden would be the better pick. If Pavano can stay healthy for a change which I do noit think he will be year after year then Pavano might be able to put up some good numbers.

Harden because he is less of an injury risk, and when he is healthy he has been unhitable. Pavano may have the opening day job for the yanks, but with Phil Hughes creeping and Chien-Ming Wang on the DL, he is not a lock to start all year.

i would take a HEALTHY pavano because new york's offense is just downright silly good. pavano gets extra wins just for being on that team. both pitchers are injury prone so if i could avoid either i would. Harden has more pitching talent but no offense behind him.

rich harden easily. pavano always gets hurt and he had one good year in florida. harden is an ace. if he is healthy he can easily win 18-20 games while getting 200 Ks. take harden if you can.

Pavano, he has the bats to back up his pitching. From top to bottom of their line up they have guys who can hit. I think this will back Pavano and he should be a 20 wins pitcher this year.
