There is a song by Rascall Flats called Ellsworth. After my grandmother died last year, my cousin played it for me and I cried so hard. It's a good song to listen to if you need to cry and it's about a grandparent so its easier to relate.

I'm very sorry for your loss, honey, I know how hard it is to lose your grandmother, I was where you were exactly a year and a day ago, but I can promise you, it will get better. you will cry for a while, but then you'll realize she is in a much better place with much better people. Again, I'm very sorry.

Also, I'd like to add that "I will remember you" is actually by Sarah McClaughlan and is a very good song too.

"Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton.

He wrote the song for his 3 year old son. His son fell out the window of his high rise apartment (I think about 18 floors). He has been lobbying to have bars put on windows above the second floor of buildings ever since.

"What Sarah Said" by Death Cab For Cutie
"Casimir Pulaski Day" by Sufjan Stevens
"Leslie Anne Levine" by The Decemberists

...are all great songs and made me cry when I first heard them. I would listen to a lot of Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, Decemberists, etc, if I were you.

Clapton Wrote "Tears In Heaven" after the death of his son...I find it very beautiful. Neil Young has a song "Old Man" that is very powerful. He's talking about a man but I know it's a song that has had great meaning for my hubby since the lose of his father and for the my children even the girls since they lost their grandad. Clapton's "Tears In Heaven" might give you some "Peace".
sorry for your lose.

One that always touches me is called "A Daisy A Day", and you can read the lyrics and listen to the song at the below link. Sorry about your loss.

Well, this song isn't slow or anything, but WAS written about a grandmother's death.

"Helena" by My Chemical Romance

It was written in memory of Gerard and Mikey Way's grandmother Elena Lee Rush. She was VERY supportive of them and their band, even buying them the van they first toured in.

I'm sorry if it isn't what you were looking for, and am TERRIBLY sympathetic of your loss.
