Hi, I have a mix tape cd my friend made for me in Itunes. On his computer he had all the track names but when I insert it in my computer It doesn't show the track names at all. How can I find out what the songs names are? Even If it has to involve several steps I'm willing to do it.
Thanks in advance,

well the bad thing is you have to imput them yourself there is no other way to do it. each factory cd has a code on the inside of the disc. it has large number and the cd play can read it and itunes or wmp can search a data base for that cd name. If you add a burned cd it doesnt' have that number and since the file probable hasnt been updated it cant figure it out.

the best thing to do is ask your friend to remake the disc using the windows method.
you just right click on the mp3 song click on send to your cd writer. then when all the songs have been added just open the cdwriter icon (my computer) and click on the write files to cd.

to make sure your songs are orginized you can either manually add the info. By right clicking on the mp3 file and add enter the artist, song name, etc..... or use itunes to change it once you download or import a cd that has no information on it.
well sorry if there isn't a direct cure for your lost song info question but i hoped i helped

You can also try looking at the files from "My computer" and then right clicking on each track to see their properties the song name might be recorded there in a subcategory.

well you can right click on the song where it says track # and just get a list from your friend and enter in each name sorry it is a tedious process I've had to do it and I don't know any way around it

Ask your friend to give you a list of the track names and artists. As you said, he has all of them on his computer. You'll have to type them all in yourself, but you can always compare them later to make sure you got them right.
