The numbness and tingling could be a side effect of the swelling - the swollen tissues crowd in on the nerves that pass through the area, and you get tingling below that area.

If you saw your family doctor, odds are that the examination was not terribly involved. They will make sure no bones are broken, of course. But beyond that, you likely need to see a specialist. In your case, I think you would be a good candidate to see a physical therapist who specializes in orthopedics or sports PT (OCS or SCS after their name).

The PT will evaluate the joint, determine if ligaments or tendons have been damaged, help you to control the swelling, and safely progress you back to full activity.

Go to APTA.org, click on "find a PT", and search your home area.

Good luck!

You need to see an orthopedic doctor and have him schedule you for a MRI. XRays won't show any tendon, ligament or cartilage damage.

your bone could be out of place I'd suggest going to a chinese doctor, or going for an xray at a specialist clinic.
