Amphibians are creatures that are unique among the animal kingdom. They possess qualities of terrestrial and aquatic creatures and therefore have the benefit of surviving in both ecosystems. This advantage makes them avid survivors in multiple habitats and conditions.

maybe these features help them: dormantion /winter sleep/ capability, slow metabolism, strict carnivores while rare prey specialisation, low cost babies in large quantities.
