I am a belliever in having a red pile, one for darks, and one for whites. I just dont want my reds to turn my jeans pink!!! If you wash reds with darks use cold water.

red can be washed with other dark colors like denim, dark blue, dark green. etc. It should never be washed with whites or other light clothes.

If you wash in cold water the colors are less likely to bleed.

also, you might want to wash the red garment first by itself in cold to kind of set the color so that it won't bleed later.

you can put reds in with colors if you wash them in cold water. washing clothes in cold water prevents them from bleeding as much. but cold water doesn't get clothes as clean as hot water (unless using laundry detergent made for cold water). so i would recommend separating clothes into white, colors, and reds/pinks and washing them in warm water!
