Well, so far you have a lot of rock song lists without a single rock n' roll title having been named. "Rocket 88" has to go on the list, of course, as the official first rock n' roll song recorded. Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes" is a must. You have to put in a couple of Elvis tunes, maybe "That's All Right" and "Don't Be Cruel." Jerry Lee's "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" and "Great Balls of Fire" have to make the list. I'd even concede a few that didn't come from Sun, like Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" and Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" should be included.
And for you youngsters who don't know the difference, real rock n' roll began to lose its roll with the introduction of (primarily left coast) rock songs in the mid-60's.

Rcok and roll songs. If you want the pure 50s and 60s songs ala Chuck Berry era well...listen to the Rock and Roll medley featured on Uriah Heep Live album. Best collection of those classic tunes I have ever heard. Songs they covered are Roll Over Beethoven, Hound Dog, Whole Lotta Shakin, Blue Suede Shoes. Try and get a listen to it if you can.
